Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22 every year since 1970.
The first Earth Day saw 20 million people across America join forces to raise awareness of environmental pollution. Today along with Earth Day we also celebrate Arbor Day, and this year both efforts are conjoined with #Trees4Earth, the Earth Day Network asking for 7.8 billion trees to be planted by 2020.
Today we hear the theme “Earth Day Every Day,” and a host of changes in both industrial and private environmental management practices are emerging.
